This Legal Notice provides information concerning the ownership, operation and hosting of the official ESPIGA Pinto Estate Shop, in accordance with applicable Portuguese and European Union law governing certain legal aspects of information-society services and electronic commerce.

Bishop & Melo, Lda. is a private limited company incorporated under Portuguese law and acts as the official business representative of the ESPIGA Pinto Estate and the artist’s heirs.
The ESPIGA Pinto Estate is not presented as a separate contracting legal entity. All purchases made through the Estate Shop are concluded with Bishop & Melo, Lda., subject to the applicable Terms of Service.

The ESPIGA Pinto Estate Shop presents and sells selected artworks, editions, publications and related objects associated with the artistic legacy of ESPIGA Pinto.
Items may include original works on paper, limited-edition prints, silkscreens, engravings, woodcuts, artist’s proofs, trial proofs, artist books, catalogues and other Estate-related items.
Works may be offered from the Espiga Family Collection or, occasionally, from selected private collections following Estate review.
The Estate Shop is not an investment platform and does not provide investment, financial, tax or resale-value advice.
6. EDITORIAL AND CONTENT RESPONSIBILITY
The commercial, editorial, administrative and legal responsibility for the website lies with:

Art-historical, archival and catalogue information may reflect research available at the time of publication. Certain dates, titles, edition details, provenance information or other catalogue information may remain subject to further Estate research or confirmation.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise indicated, the website’s text, artwork images, photographs, catalogue information, graphics, logos, videos, layout and design are owned by or licensed to Bishop & Melo, Lda., the ESPIGA Pinto Estate, the artist’s heirs or other identified rights holders.
Access to the website does not grant any licence or right to reproduce, publish, adapt, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use protected content beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
Purchase of an artwork, print, publication or object transfers ownership of the physical item only. It does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights, publication rights, merchandising rights, moral rights or other intellectual-property rights unless expressly agreed in writing.

8. COPYRIGHT AND ARTWORK IMAGES
Copyright in works by José Manuel Espiga Pinto remains with the artist’s copyright
owners and is administered by DACS under its agreement with them.
The ESPIGA Pinto Estate Shop is operated by Bishop & Melo, Lda. Artwork images on this website are reproduced by Bishop & Melo, Lda. under a direct licence granted by the copyright owners pursuant to their DACS membership agreement.
Purchase of a physical artwork does not transfer copyright, reproduction, publication, merchandising or image-licensing rights.
Unauthorised reproduction, publication, adaptation, distribution or commercial use of artwork images is prohibited.
9. HOSTING AND E-COMMERCE PLATFORM
The Estate Shop is powered and technically hosted through the Shopify e-commerce platform.
For merchants established in Portugal, Shopify identifies its relevant European contracting entity as:

Shopify supplies the technical infrastructure used to operate the online shop. Shopify is not the seller of the artworks or other products offered through the Estate Shop. Contracts of sale are concluded directly between the customer and Bishop & Melo, Lda. Shopify identifies Shopify International Limited as its contracting entity for merchants in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Shopify and its service providers may process information in connection with hosting, checkout, security, fraud prevention and other platform services, as explained in the applicable Privacy Policy.
10. PRICES AND ADDITIONAL COSTS
Product prices, applicable taxes and any charges collected by us are displayed before an order is submitted.
Prices are displayed in euros or, where enabled, in the user’s local currency.
Shipping is offered free of charge to eligible destinations unless otherwise stated on the product page, at checkout or in a separate quotation.
Customers receiving goods outside the European Union, or in territories with separate customs or tax regimes, may be responsible for import VAT, customs duties, brokerage charges, clearance costs or other amounts imposed by the destination country.

In the event of inconsistency, the terms applying specifically to the relevant transaction or subject matter will prevail, subject to mandatory law.
15. APPLICABLE LAW
The website is operated from Portugal and is subject to Portuguese law, including applicable European Union law.
Contracts concluded through the Estate Shop are governed by the choice-of-law and jurisdiction provisions contained in the Terms of Service.
Where the customer is a consumer habitually resident in another country, the choice of Portuguese law does not deprive that consumer of any mandatory protection applicable under the law that would otherwise govern the transaction.
